How to Split Videos Using Sony Vegas Pro
Splitting a video is one of the many features that Sony Vegas Pro has for you in store. This application has made made splitting as easy as pressing a single button! This article will guide you to split a video easily using Vegas Pro.Splitting Video
Splitting a video divides the video into sections, which allows you to sort and edit your videos in batches/sections. This is very useful if you have many different sections that you want to edit differently.
In order to split video, you place the navigation line to the area you want to split. Then either right-click and choose Split or press the shortcut key (S).
Trimming Video
There are different ways to trim a video; you can trim all other sections except an area you select, trimming the start (anything earlier than area selected) and trimming the end (anything later than area selected).
To trim all other sections except an area you select, highlight/select the area you want to save, and then either right-click and click Trim or hotkey Ctrl + T.
To trim only the start (anything earlier than area selected), highlight/select the area you want, and then either right-click and click Trim Start or hotkey Alt + [, and this will remove the video section in front of the area selected.
To trim only the end (anything later than area selected), highlight/select the area you want, and then either right-click and click Trim End or hotkey Alt + ], and this will remove the video section behind the area selected.
Cutting Video
Cutting the video means that you can select an area to cut and then paste it onto an area that you want it to be. To cut a video section, highlight/select the area and then either right-click and click Cut or Ctrl + X. To paste a video section, just click on the area you want it to be pasted at and then either right-click and click Paste or hotkey Ctrl + V.
Deleting Video (particularly unwanted footage)
Deleting an video section is self-explanatory. In order to delete a video area, highlight/select the area and either right-click and click Delete or just press the hotkey Delete.
I hope this tutorial has helped you and I plan on continuing in creating more of these on video and image editing because I see it as a tool that is extremely powerful especially if you want to create products such as banners, logos, icons, etc.
